Golden Jubilee Celebrations: Again, Dotun Sanusi Bags Honours as Ondo, Ogun, and Oyo States Climax Golden Jubilee Celebrations with Awards to Distinguished Nigerians
Various historical activities swept across three southwestern states—Ondo, Ogun, and Oyo—as they celebrated 50 years of existence with week-long organized events.
The peak of the activities in each state was the presentation of decorated plaques to selected categories of distinguished Nigerians who have contributed, and are still contributing, to the development of their states in one way or another.
The awards were presented by the executive governors in the presence of invited guests from within and outside the states at elaborate ceremonies.
In Oyo State, which had in attendance former governors of Edo State, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion and Chief Olabode George, alongside other distinguished guests, the awards ceremony was held in a cool ambience organized by the planners.
Former governors of the state—both military and civilian—alongside other prominent figures who have made outstanding contributions were honoured.
The awardees comprised famous names in governance, arts and entertainment, industry, science, sports, education, and other sectors where they have made significant contributions and impacts.
Chief Dotun Sanusi, the CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, who had just returned from the United Kingdom, where he bagged multiple awards, was also among the distinguished Nigerians who deservedly received honours as their states marked their golden jubilee.
Chief Dotun Sanusi was honoured based on his remarkable contributions to entrepreneurship, sports and entertainment, tourism, community development, and notable philanthropic gestures. He was described as an enigma who has played a major role in the socio-economic and infrastructural development of Oyo State at large.
Chief Dotun Sanusi, the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, who attended the event with his wife, was presented with the plaque award by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE.
Numerous admirers have since taken to the media to celebrate the honour once again for Chief Dotun Sanusi, whose name continues to attract recognition across the globe.
